It is a matter of great pleasure for me to welcome all and to introduce the college.
From my long experience as a teacher educator, I have realized that academic achievement of the students teachers depends on language competency, self-esteem, aptitude and motivation of the learners, study habits, acceptance and caring for learners, positive class room management i.e. time-on-task, effective use of instructional techniques, peer group interaction, learning environment(not competitive but co-operative) etc.
More over, they require provisions for acquiring ‘Twenty first century skills and competencies for 21st century jobs(i.e. teaching)’. These essential competencies are inter-personal like leadership, self-management, decision making policy, conflict management etc.
To meet those factors the college under the guidance of SHIBNATH SAHA TEACHERS TRAINING COLLEGE Governing Body and academic advisory committee has been providing the student with the support systems like language, different science, ICT and psychological laboratories, remedial teaching, placement cell continuous and comprehensive evaluation system, Library with internet facilities, indoor and outdoor activities, full time and part-time teachers having sympathy and empathy for students, community outreach programme(Engagement with field / Practicum).
The college has also been the study centre for offering different courses through ODL and NIOS.
I do believe by the co-operative of all, the college shall continue to march ahead thorough lights of newer facets in the teacher education.
